ANTA Philippines celebrates the launch of ANTA KAI 1 ‘Artist on Court’ with KAI Space-Manila
Last March 10, 2024, ANTA Philippines celebrated the global launch of the ANTA KAI 1 ‘Artist on Court.’ After much anticipation following successful releases in New York and Dallas, Kyrie Irving’s signature shoes have made its debut in the Philippines. Exclusively held in SM Megamall Atrium, this launch was supported by a dedicated KAI Space-Manila. Sneaker enthusiasts and basketball fans filled the event excited to get their hands on a pair of these exclusive kicks.
ANTA prides itself on innovation, inclusivity and diversity in its products, and the KAI 1 ‘Artist on Court’ exemplifies this as well. This exclusive first addition to Kyrie Irving’s signature footwear line is a cultural mosaic crafted by renowned ANTA Black Footwear Design Director Jared Subawon. Together with his team of designers and Kyrie Irving as the Chief Creative Officer, the shoes are woven with Kyrie’s heritage. Blending together the heart of basketball and Kyrie’s ancestry, these shoes embody his story and pays homage to his heritage. With its aerodynamic contours and hieroglyphic-esque code, these are future-forward shoes that celebrate his Native American roots.
While queueing started at 10am, eager fans showed up as early as 2am to get in line for the limited edition shoes. The KAI Space-Manila event was also packed with entertainment and interactive activities to keep the good energy going. From experiential installations like the LED tunnel, product customization, and games, these activities exercised fans’ creativity and athleticism. KAI-Space Manila visitors were also treated to Kyrie-inspired art by Marclen Ricafort-Chulani and lively DJ sets by Merms Dabu and Lucio Pua.
There was never a dull moment at this exclusive event that brought fans of Kyrie Irving together! The KAI Space-Manila event truly showed the sense of community that sports brings. It highlights the importance of uplifting inclusive, fashionable, and functional designs rooted in one’s culture. After the successful launch of the KAI 1 ‘Artist on Court,’ sneaker fans can look forward to future releases from Kyrie Irving and ANTA!
